Position Summary

Under general direction, responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment used in the operations facilities and assets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for assisting technicians, performing manual labor, occasionally driving a truck, and performing a variety of maintenance activities.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Tests, inspects, and repairs electrical systems, electrical equipment, pumps, injection equipment, and components; carries out daily checks of electrical equipment.
  • Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Troubleshoots systems, such as control systems, gas detection systems, and fire detections systems.
  • Assists with installation and duties associated with consistent with electrical code to avoid hazardous wiring. Assists in maintaining certification of equipment as required.
  • Assists with maintenance of electrical tools and instruments.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of spares to fulfill maintenance requirements.
  • Performs new production facility electric construction.
  • Performs general lease maintenance on controls and monitoring equipment.
  • Complies with RIVIERA’s Safety and Environmental Programs as dictated by federal, state, and local laws.
  • Supports and assists the Lease Operators and other members of the Operations Department, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Certificates, Licenses

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state driver’s license.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience as an electrician.
  • Electrician’s license preferred but not required.
  • Oil and gas maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to operate motor vehicles and equipment safely and legally.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work safely alone.
  • Knowledge of production equipment workings, basic hand tools, and specialized tools and equipment after training.
  • Familiar with NED and industry standards.

Work Environment

This role works primarily in a non-office environment. In this capacity, incumbents are regularly:

  • Exposed to outdoor elements such as extreme heat or cold, heavy winds, rain, or snow.
  • Required to drive to and access job sites, in light of day as well as in darkness, to perform work assignments. Some job site locations may be remote from the office requiring overnight stays and/or isolated from interaction with others and towns.
  • Required to balance, bend, squat, crouch, climb, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, push/pull and lift objects, and use apparatus to push/pull and lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more.
  • Subject to exposure to hazards such as but not limited to slippery or uneven surfaces; environmental/industry hazards such as chemicals, high-decibel noise from production equipment, fumes, or poor ventilation; proximity to moving objects and vehicles; potentially combustible components; hazardous off- road conditions such as dust, ice, and snow.
  • May be requested to work long hours to complete job assignments.
  • May work a rotating schedule, shift, and/or be on call.
  • Follow all company safety policies and protocols.
  • Required to perform active, physical tasks including but not limited to operating equipment and/or machinery and making adjustments and repairs.
  • Required to have visual acuity to work with parts, equipment, apparatus, etc.
  • Required to possess audible acuity to hear alarms in the event of emergency.
