Position Summary

Under direct supervision, coordinates company-wide safety and environmental compliance efforts. Receives guidance from more experienced representatives, and assumes personal ownership for actions and results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides EH&S support to midstream operations (including gas plant and pipeline).
  • Prepares internal communications and necessary tools to assist company personnel in complying with new and existing regulations.
  • Uses professional networking and relationship building skills to benefit the company’s EH&S program.
  • Engages in day to day management of consultants.
  • Performs mathematical calculations when addressing environmental permitting and compliance reporting to Federal and State agencies.
  • Organizes, schedules, and completes basic projects and assignments on a timely basis with some direction and interim review; day-to-day supervision diminishes with tenure.
  • Participates in multiple EH&S programs in support of company.
  • Collaborates within the operational and EH&S team to effectively meet area and departmental EH&S goals.
  • Assesses assigned operations for compliance with EH&S rules, regulations, policy, and laws.
  • Participates in audits of assets and in implementation of required corrective actions.
  • Participates in the Management of Change process.
  • Serves as an EH&S resource for supported assets and to corporate personnel.
  • Identifies problems and solutions based on training and knowledge of functional practices and procedures; uses a disciplined approach to problem solving and frequently utilizes more senior staff for guidance.
  • Supports asset-level management with implementation of EH&S regulations, standards, and associated requirements.
  • Maintains documentation and submits reports in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Certificates, Licenses

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, or related discipline preferred.

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PE, CSP) are a plus.


Level of complexity involves knowledge, skills and abilities typically gained through 2+ years of progressively responsible positions within midstream market.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of environmental regulatory laws, regulations, and rulemaking mechanisms.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA PSM regulations.
  • Ability to access and utilize both internal and external EH&S databases
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of functional EH&S principles and a strong desire to develop knowledge and apply state-of-the-art practices.
  • Develops understanding of legal consequences of recommendations.
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas operations and implications for compliance with environmental, health and safety laws.
  • Develops project management skills, as well as problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective EH&S presentation and training skills.
  • Professional networking and relationship building skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Field based office environment, with approximately half of the time spent in the field.
  • Routine work involves common office activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing, sitting, walking, typing, and twisting as necessary.
  • May be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must follow all company safety policies, including when visiting field locations.
