Position Summary

This may be second level supervisory position. Performs and oversees construction and repairs/replacement on new and existing facilities, locations, and equipment in accordance to engineered plans, regulations, and company standards.  Hires, trains, develops, and supervises direct reports and contractors on processes, procedures, and daily activities.  Responsible for the safe and environmentally sound daily operational activities of assigned projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Directly supervises a crew of contractors and field employees, including Roustabouts, Operation Techs and Operation Specialists, in the construction activities of assigned projects.
  • Sets and enforces expectations and creates work schedules for direct reports and contractors. 
  • May oversee activities of contract crews.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with employees, contractors, guests, regulatory agencies and the general public.
  • Monitors district activity to ensure company personnel and vendors are providing quality service and adhering to safety and environmental policies.
  • Monitors, controls, and lowers costs of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates the selection of vendors and materials for specific projects in conjunction with engineering and SCM.
  • Complies and ensures compliance of direct reports and contractors with all corporate policies, laws, regulations and management decisions.
  • Develops direct reports through coaching, counseling, disciplining and the performance evaluation process in order for employees to reach the next level in their career progression.
  • Aids, supports, monitors, and assists the members of the Operations Department, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for budgetary line control of the supervised operation. Has fiscal accountability for lease operating expenses involving budgeting, monitoring and tracking activities.

Education, Certificates, Licenses

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.


  • 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced understanding of oil and gas separation and processing equipment;  gas compressors;  flowline and pipeline installation; well site hook-ups and reporting.
  • Punctual and reliable job attendance.
  • Clear, concise verbal and writing skills.
  • Broad understanding of oil and gas economics.
  • Advanced computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn applications specific software and function in Microsoft Office environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of oil and gas safety practices and procedures

Work Environment

This role occasionally works in a non-office environment. In this capacity, incumbents are sometimes:

  • Exposed to outdoor elements such as extreme heat or cold, heavy winds, rain, or snow.
  • Required to drive to and access job sites, in light of day as well as in darkness, to perform work assignments. Some job site locations may be remote from the office requiring overnight stays and/or isolated from interaction with others and towns.
  • Required to balance, bend, squat, crouch, climb, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, push/pull and lift objects, and use apparatus to push/pull and lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more.
  • Subject to exposure to hazards such as but not limited to slippery or uneven surfaces; environmental/industry hazards such as chemicals, high-decibel noise from production equipment, fumes, or poor ventilation; proximity to moving objects and vehicles; potentially combustible components; hazardous off- road conditions such as dust, ice, and snow.
  • May be requested to work long hours to complete job assignments.
  • May work a rotating schedule, shift, and/or be on call.
  • Follow all company safety policies and protocols.
  • Required to perform active, physical tasks including but not limited to operating equipment and/or machinery and making adjustments and repairs.
  • Required to have visual acuity to work with parts, equipment, apparatus, etc.
  • Required to possess audible acuity to hear alarms in the event of emergency.
