Position Summary

Primarily responsible for managing crude oil gathering and marketing activities including negotiation of the contract terms for existing operating regions.  Will also include managing natural gas and NGL markets and terms. The position will also monitor developing markets for crude oil, natural gas, and NGLs

Key Accountabilities

  • Contact potential buyers and negotiating price, delivery, quality, and quantity terms
  • Maintaining relationships with existing buyers
  • Handle contract negotiations
  • Monitor and track pricing for crude oil, natural gas, and NGLs
  • Finalize and maintain various oil, liquids and gas volume schedules monthly
  • Act as liaison between Marketing and Accounting departments
  • Maintain all related recordkeeping, files and documentation in accordance with SOX requirements and expected Company record retention policies
  • Work on special projects related to gas processing plants and crude gathering facilities
  • Provide updates to management concerning all marketing activities
  • Communicate with the field level staff and monitor marketing company's performance
  • Provide netbacks and pricing information

Education, Certificates, Licenses

Bachelor’s Degree required


  • Direct oil gathering, marketing and business development experience
  • Cushing market experience (familiarity with Cushing markets – pipelines, storage and marketers/end-users)
  • Familiar with quality bank design and ongoing management
  • Ability to interface well with engineering to scope project and with operations
  • Level of complexity generally requires knowledge, skills and abilities acquired through 10+ years of oil and gas sales experience

  • Excellent understanding of and experience with industry-typical contracts
  • Ability to travel as needed


Work Environment

  • Primarily office environment
  • Routine work involves common office activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing, sitting, walking, typing and twisting as necessary
  • May be required to occasionally lift to 50 pounds
  • Must follow all company safety policies, including when visiting field locations
